Synchrotron SAXS
data from solutions of
Fe3O4 nanoparticles (10 nm diameter)
in
50 mM borate buffer, 0.02% NaN3, pH 8.5
were collected
on the
EMBL P12 beam line
at the PETRA III storage ring
(DESY; Hamburg, Germany)
using a Pilatus 6M detector
at a sample-detector distance of 3 m and
at a wavelength of λ = 0.123 nm
(I(s) vs s, where s = 4πsinθ/λ, and 2θ is the scattering angle).
at 20°C.
20 successive
0.050 second frames were collected.
The data were normalized to the intensity of the transmitted beam and radially averaged; the scattering of the solvent-blank was subtracted.
Fe3O4 nanoparticles, coated with amphiphilic polymer coating composed of carboxylic acid atop an organic monomeric layer of oleic acid, dispersed in aqueous solution (purchased from Ocean Nano Inc., San Diego, CA, USA).
In air measurement; temperature controlled capillary holder; Fe3O4 nanoparticle dispersion, with polydispersity: p(r) yields the volume weighted size distribution function for spherical particles. Average particle radius: 5.7 nm.
