Synchrotron SAXS data from solutions of nanodics composed of a lipid bilayer of POPC, solubilized by a rim of amphipathic and circularized membrane scaffolding protein (csMSP1E3D1), in 20 mM Tris-HCl pH 7.5, 100 mM NaCl were collected on the EMBL P12 beam line at PETRA III (DESY, Hamburg, Germany) using a Pilatus 2M detector at a sample-detector distance of 3 m and at a wavelength of λ = 0.124 nm (I(s) vs s, where s = 4πsinθ/λ, and 2θ is the scattering angle). Forty 0.045 second frames were collected, at a sample temperature of at 10°C. The data were normalized to the intensity of the transmitted beam and radially averaged; the scattering of the solvent-blank was subtracted.
As decribed in the paper, the nanodiscs have some degree of polydispersity, which were modelled. As part of the post-processing and before model fitting, the data were rebinned to 110 points.
